Born in North London, Brian moved to Harlow when quite young. At the age of 13 formed a band (The Federation) with his twin brother and 3 school friends from the now defunct Latton Bush School. The band played modern (for the day!) covers and won the first Beat Competition at Spurriers in 1967. The Federation supported Free (twice), Sounds Incorporated, Tony Rivers and the Castaways (who became Harmony Grass), Grapefruit (hits with Dear Delilah and Elevator), and The Alan Bown Set (featuring Robert Palmer). All of these gigs were at "The Blue Rooms" - formerly The Grove Youth Club.

Brian got married in his early 20s and (his words) this cocked everything up, eventually joining The Brian Bridges Band and touring the British and American Air Forces bases of South and East England (Brize Norton amongst them). When the Brian Bridges Band went its own way, Brian spent some time depping before becoming the bass player with Experienced who changed their name to Gimme Hendrix. Obviously playing as a Hendrix Tribute, they played their first gig at the Harlow Playhouse after only being together for 3 months. This band reached the dizzy heights of playing at the Matthew Street Festival and The Cavern in Liverpool.

Brian progressed to playing Blues with the BJ Party Band at The Square, Harlow with Mike Humphries. He proudly named Custer's Last Band in which he played bass on the Harlow pub circuit in the 1990s. More recently Brian has depped with Portland Avenue and occasionally backed Paul Howard and Joe Clack.

Brian met Gary, by accident, in September 2010 at a Karaoke evening at The Drinker Moth and was an instant hit! When looking for a bass player to join the rhythm section for Marrakesh, there was no hesitation - there was only one man for the job.

Brian is a multi instrumentalist playing guitar, 12 string and mandolin as well as the bass obviously. He forms part of our jazz trio with Gary and Soh.

Musical influence: Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Family, The Beatles, Genesis, 10cc.
