'This girl is going to go far.'-- David Mossiman, Musical Director, The Vortex, London

'She can sing anything – she is a Soul Diva.' -- Ian Shaw, Winner, Best Jazz Vocalist, BBC Jazz Awards 2007

Soh Breezy's stage career began early, in her hometown of Portsmouth, when she performed in various musicals with the Portsmouth Players in Carousel, Hello Dolly and The King & I at the Kings Theatre, Southsea. She progressed to various bands with other music enthusiasts in Portsmouth before moving to London to do a BA Hons in English Literature at North London Polytechnic. During her college years she formed a folk duo with guitarist, Paul Lewis. Together they supported Brian Willoughby and Dave Cousins of The Strawbs, during their university tour. On completing her degree, Soh joined a jazz/funk outfit called First Bite and earned her stripes in various pubs, jazz clubs and working men's clubs. Later, Soh and sax player, Steve Knight, formed The Swinging Garçons, which had a long running residency at the Tufnell Park Tavern, and included Eric Allandale, trombone player with the 70s band The Foundations. They were frequently joined by acclaimed British saxophonist Alan Barnes. The line-up also included bass player Alexander Keen and pianist Gabriel Keen, now of The Fabulations. Soh then forayed into the world of doo wop, joining Al Catraz and the Chaingang, fronted by Darts' Dan Heggarty. They regularly performed at The Dublin Castle and supported 14 Karat Soul at Dingwalls during the Capital Radio Fringe Music Festival, as well as headlining at the club. Following her doo wop days, Soh played keyboards in an all-girl band with singer Louise McCabe and sax player Kate Townsend, who sadly died at a very young age of a brain tumour. Currently, Soh sings with Delapina Swing, a six/seven-piece band which is active on the Lindy Hop/Jive scene, and Five Brothers, a jazz band quintet. As a solo artist, Soh has recently been doing solo piano/vocal gigs at the Ochre Bar, downstairs at famous jazz venue, The Vortex. She has also supported Carol Grimes and Ian Shaw at The Vortex. She has recently released her first solo CD
'Black Knight'. She has her own web site and Facebook presence. Brian and Gary often form a trio with Soh playing jazz and more MOR numbers.
